I have a 2001 4-door Grand Am GT and the passenger side window wont go down. The last time I rolled down the window was probably 4 months ago and it was fine. I didn't notice any signs of struggle last time it was used, it always went up and down fine. The other windows go up and down fine. The passenger side power window does not respond from the drivers side master switch nor from the switch located on the passenger door itself. The power door lock on the passenger side works fine.I don't hear the window motor engaged either when the switch it pressed. What could the problem be?

Rubber stuck to the window?

When you hit the button, do the lights dip?

Put an ammeter across where the fuse should be and see if it draws when the button is pushed.

Just went outside and turned the key to the on position and I actually did hear a faint click when the button is pressed and looked at the radio display while doing it and it looks like electricity is going through. I also tried beating on the window a little and still wont go down.

Window lift or motor gear may be stuck. (I had the same problem in my Olds, which has all the same internal parts as Grand AM)

The only way to fully test this problem is by removing the inside door panel. Remove the screw hidden behind the bottom reflector, and then remove door panel.

Support the window from inside the door (the motor holds the window up) and remove the motor with the wires still attached.
If motor works while it is removed, apply heavy grease to the motor gear, and re-install.

Thank you for the replies. For some reason the window works now. I dont know why it suddenly started working again. I tried everything before to try to get it to go down but it worked out of the blue today. I only put down the window about an inch because I didn't want to risk it being stuck in the down position even though the window rolls up and down fine. Thanks again!!
