Trying to clean the rings in the 200k mile daily beater. Have a 1/4 of a can of Amsoil Power Foam. Is it ok to soak the pistons with Power foam overnight?
Yep, it'll clean those pistons.
Whether it'll get to the rings and clean them is another question.
Amsoil fast acting engine flush should help with those rings. And, Amsoil Performance Improver in the fuel should also help with carbon cleaning in the engine.
Somebody at the Saturn board said NOT to soak OVERNIGHT. I have no idea if this is true or not, but according to dealer guidelines, you should only soak for 2-3 hours or else risk having the deposits begin to harden.

I don't know about the Power Foam Soak, but the MMO soak is definately overnight. I did a search in the "how to" library. It was written by "Wolfman" on the Saturn forum, he is the king over there. Here is the link, hope it helps.
I finished the 3 hour piston soak. At the 1 1/2 hour point I sprayed more Power Foam in 3 of the cylinders that were almost dry.
The car was HARD to start the first time. On the way to the freeway I could hear the EGR valve operating again. The power brakes are much better now! The car ran smooth with more power and it gets up to highway speed faster.
When I changed the oil, 3 quarts drained like water in about 1 or 2 minutes. I'll see how the car performes today when I drive to work, 55 miles round trip.
On the highway throttle response is back. The car tries to speed so I have to keep backing off on the accelerator, until I turn south into the wind. Then I don't have to worry about breaking the speed limit.
I think one reason the car was so hard to start the first time is b/c I put a teaspoon of oil in the cylinders before I put the spark plugs back in. I think the Power Foam did a good job.
I wonder if there is a thicker product for doing a piston soak that won't drain past the rings so fast. I was thinking about mixing MMo and fleet 30, If I were to do it over again.
