Post your latest oil purchase or even filter.

I popped over the border today to Niagara Falls NY and grabbed a jug of VRP 5w20. I would have preferred to stick with 0w20 for my Civic but they didn’t have any in stock. I’m sure this will be perfectly fine, especially since I probably won’t be doing my next change until early to mid March and we won’t likely get too many extremely cold days then.

I was there yesterday @Patman, you could have bought me a steak at your favourite steak house, across from NAPA. :ROFLMAO: Tons in stock BTW, and on sale too; WM shelves were bare.
How much was NAPA selling VRP for?

And I wish I had a steak from Longhorn today, it was a quick shopping trip so I grabbed a McRib instead 🤣

IIRC @Patman, $36, not as good as WM, but lots on the shelf in all grades. Stopped in at MCD and opted for just a coffee, but I did see the advert for it; I've never tried the McRib.

2001 Chevy Blazer 4.3 Vortec.

Out: Mobil 1 HM 5w-30 (about 2000 miles on this oil.)

In: Shell Rotella T6 MV 5w-30.

Just trying out Shell Rotella T6, because of all the hype over it. The VOA doesn’t seem impressive at all, and it has zero Molybdenum, but it’s the same story with all other T6 oils. It seems typical diesel engines that use the T6 or even the T4 seem to get excellent results.

Castrol Edge High Mileage 0w20 and a Carquest Premium Blue 84712 for my mom's 2015 Outback 2.5L

Castrol GTX High Mileage 0w20 and a Carquest Premium Blue 84356 for my sister's 2020 Acura MDX.

Jug of M1 0w40 and since Advanca Auto is giving away ANY filter FREE with it; snagged a CarQuest premium 85348 for one of the Focus’s
I believe that deal is going on with Pennzoil, Castrol and Valvoline in addition to M1. 5 quarts of oil and any filter for same price as the 5 quarts by itself. I'm pretty sure the Fram oil is the only bundle deal where you have to get a specific filter- either Fram or Carquest.

Havoline High Mileage 10w-30 Synthetic (6 qt box) for "Curtis." (1997 Toyota Previa SC LE.) I'm hoping it will cut down some the oil seepage from the valve cover. Toyota knew of the "issue" b/c the engine is flat on its side and they designed: (1) drainage shield under the VC which will divert the oil away from the exhaust pipes, (2) large oil reserve tank under the hood which will pump oil into the engine under the worst circumstances. I like Chevron and Havoline oil. Chevron Supreme had some of lightest golden color of any oil I've used (if that means anything).

I discovered this today while at a closing down AAP. I was unaware until today.

Those are great vans! My friend had one years ago and loved it.
Just out of curiosity, does yours have any leakage at the distributor seal? His failed twice in 10 years.

I gave the van to my oldest daughter a few years ago. It has been completely reliable in all the time I owned it. (Bought used in 1999 w/70k miles for around $15k.) It's the most unique car and it can easy haul 4'x8' sheets of drywall and 12' long lumber boards. Can accommodate 6 people in total comfort. Ours had the swiveling captain seats & dual sunroofs. Nothing like it. I don't ever recall a leak by the distributor. The hardest job was removing the rear differential plug. To get to the valve cover gasket you have to remove the passenger seat. A true "runner" which can easily go 300-500k miles.
