Post your latest oil change

I was going to ask about that one too. Another beautiful Hatchback, and one we didn't get over here.

Ford stopped building the Fiesta earlier this year, and the Fiesta ST in my mind has always been one of the best small affordable drivers cars available, so I had to have one of the last ones. Mine is a November 2022 build, one of the last shipments to come to Australia. It’s the final iteration of Fiesta ST, so has the Ford Performance seats, B&O audio, digital dash, full LED matrix headlights, Quaife limited slip differential etc. all from factory.

Has the 1.5L three-cylinder “Dragon” EcoBoost and six-speed manual. 147kW/320Nm which is 200HP/236lb-ft.

It’ll never be as great a car as the 2010 Focus RS, but it’s bloody close in terms of outright fun and engagement. Awesome cars that we’re all going to miss when they’re gone. Luckily BITOG helps me extend their lives as much as possible by helping me choose the best oils for them!

2019 Honda Pilot, 57,112 miles, 6,721 miles on oil. Maintenance Minder at 10%.
Out - about 5.7qts M1 AFE 0W-20, Honda 15400-PCX-004 Filter (for S2000) w/Filtermag.
In - 5.7 qts PP Euro L 5W-30, Honda 15400-PCX-004 Filter (for S2000) w/Filtermag.

Sample pulled to send in.

Also installed a ValvoMax drain plug to try it out. I like how it sits much better than the Fumoto I had prior. Skid plate went back on anyway, but on this vehicle I wouldn't run the Fumoto with out the skid plate. I posted pics of that in other threads.

2014 Honda CR-V.
148,981 miles on car.
7,236 on oil. MM at 5%.
Out and in:
Kirkland 0W-20 D1G2 and Fram Ultra. (Have a few more of the D1G2 before I get to the D1G3.)
Getting tire balance and rotation done tomorrowat Costco.

Car is weird. Manual says 4.2 quarts. I put almost 5 quarts in till it showed full on the dipstick and that was running it for 5+ minutes before I topped off.

This was a tough oil change. I have covid and a sinus infection. Dropped the filter wrench in the oil drain pan twice and splashed oil all over, including myself. Also, when I was putting the new filter on, I noticed it took a lot of turns to get it tight. I also noticed that the ultras have a thick gasket. So, I looked at the old filter and saw the gasket was missing. I took off the new filter and the old gasket fell off. That was why it felt like it was taking so long to tighten. So, the filter DOES have a thick gasket but after the old gasket fell, it tightened better. Wish I had a lift!

Never heard of Swepco, had to look it up. Then again if not for BITOG probably at least a dozen other brands the same way including HPL that I would not have know about.

Why the Swepco? Local and good deals? Benefits over the Schaefer's or Amsoil (or others)?

And like Wheel366- rocking the cold/sinus thing. Just in a fog doing the Pilot. Pilot filter sucks on ramps when you are feeling good. Engineer that put it right above frame with no room should be beaten.

1983 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60, 155,080 miles

This was the first oil change after the engine rebuild.

Out: Unknown 10w-40 and Wix 51515 oil filter
Oil in service for about 700 miles. Came out really black.

In: 8 quarts of 0w-40 Mobil 1 and Wix 51515 oil filter

I have a trip planned for March, so I'll do this next run until then and change it before the trip.

Swepco 306 is a very high quality API CI4+/SL HDEO with high ZDDP and a proprietary friction modifier. Very highly regarded in the classic Porsche community. It's not cheap, but I am a distributor so I get it at wholesale price. I use it personally in my 2004 Silverado and run it for one year intervals. You don't hear of it because Swepco doesn't advertise. They are more concerned with consistent quality over marketing. They produce a wide range of automotive and industrial lubricants. As far as comparison to other boutique brands like Amsoil and Schaeffer's, quality is going to be on par with their offerings. The 306 is recommended for engines without more modern catalyst equipment. They make CJ4 oil but I have no experience with it.

M1 in Australia is outrageously expensive
The red horse with angel wings (that appears on the top-front of Mobil Super Synthetic Jugs), should have similar animal characters on M-1 jugs of Australia.
Sales of M-1 in Australia could increase dramatically and prices would drop, if Mobil-Exxon chose to show a red kangaroo with angel wings, on all M-1 jugs in Australia.

I didn't really get the guy who claimed a Swepco representative was bashing redline, as it doesn't appear there was really anything conclusive about who the naysayer was. In my dealings with Swepco, they've never badmouthed anyone's products. I've asked for product recommendations for comparable products and they've told me what was comparable to another's products. I really like the 306 motor oil, and I recommend it highly, but I've used a lot of high quality products from other brands and wouldn't hesitate to again. I've actually got Amsoil severe gear in the rear diff of my Silverado and Mobil 1 transmission fluid in it's transmission and power steering system. I can attest that the 306 does really smooth out an engine and offer quicker starts, but I'm not trying to sell it. I got my one high volume customer and I keep him satisfied. 🙂
