Just like we have in the other forums, post your latest marine oil and filter changes.

I'll start:

Was at the cottage this past weekend and the marina, who we stored the Supra and Four Winns with this winter honoured my wishes and didn't change the oil (unlike where we stored it the previous year).

- 1995 Supra Comp TS6M inboard ski boat w/PCM (Ford) GT40 Pro Boss 351W (5.8L)
- 468 hours on unit, one season on oil/filter
Out: Mercury Marine oil filter and ???? oil
In: Fleetguard LF3487 Stratapore filter, Delvac 1 ESP 5w-40

I'm curious. The watercraft I owned back in the 90's were 2-Strokes. (Polaris 650's). Now many watercraft have gone 4-Stroke as well. With many using something similar to the 1+ liter, 4 cylinder motorcycle engines. I was wondering what type of drain system they incorporate? And how much of a PITA it is to do an oil change on them?

Oh no, not another "post your..." thread. Please spare us!
IMO this is the equivalent of posting pictures of your meals on Facebook.
The one in the PCMO section is 840 pages and has been running since 2009:

The one in the HDEO section is considerably shorter, but was only started in December of 2021:

I don't think it's unreasonable for there to be one in each section? If that bothers you, feel free not to participate 🤷‍♂️

Between the "Post your..." threads and the "What are you... right now?" threads, just because there are several of these threads, and many pages of posts in them, doesn't make them anything more than the useless nonsense that they actually are IMO. I/We don't need to see buckets of used oil and dirty dented oil filters any more than I/We need to see what people had for lunch today. These kinds of threads are just carryovers from the kind of nonsense that anti-social media has become.
I don't read them, and I don't usually post in them unless a new one pops up.

There are thousands of useless threads on this board. THOUSANDS. The great thing is that we have the option if we want to contribute to them or not. The vast majority of threads on here aren't technical and have little to no technical value.

Then don't click on the threads?

Participation in these sorts of exchanges is absolutely optional. Nobody put an ice hook through your taint and dragged you in here. There was no mandate for you to put yourself in this position of obvious discomfort so that you could voice your displeasure on the subject matter.

Rotella 15w40 in a MerCruiser 4.3. Engine has about 70 hours on it.

The 14 Seadoo RXP-X most recent change was Amsoil Marine 10w40. 340 hours on engine. 1.5 liter 3 cylinder.

The 2006 Turbo charged Honda R12X gets Amsoil High Zinc 10w40.
726 hours on engine.
1.2 liter 4 cylinder.

On my PWC’s I use a pump similar to this and extract it out of the dip stick. Same with my boat. Not difficult at all.

The Honda Has a dry sump and rear sump so I have to extract in 2 areas after I warm the engine.

That's a nice unit! I've been using a drill pump and it is not great.

I just recently picked up a 2016 Yamaha V1 Sport with the 1039cc TR1 3 cylinder with only 28 hours on it. I haven't changed the oil myself but the previous owner did before selling it, with the Yamalube 10W-40 and Yamaha OE filter. It'll be good for a while but I look forward to getting a UOA on it in the future and cutting open the filter. I will need to pick up a fluid extractor as like most 4 stroke PWC it has a dry sump.

Edit: I will most likely use LiquiMoly Marine PWC 10W-40 in the future

2009 Glastron SSV175 w Volvo Penta 3 ltr.
Mobil Delvac Extreme 15W-40
Fram PH30
Two Fleetguard LF651 on the shelf for future changes
Just acquired the boat from a Navy Vet who bought it for grandkids. Less than 100 hours on it.
In the shop for a thorough service.
