Porsche is now offering an accessory LED retrofit for H1 bulbs on certain cars. Interesting, they appear to utilize cooling fans and large heat sinks. Glad to see an OEM offering this and hope more will. Not officially available in the US yet, and they may never be due to our lighting rules which can be somewhat silly, but I may have found a mission!

I would hope they get the color temperature closer to halogen (a bit warmer). I always find it disconcerting to see HID or LED headlights on a classic sports car from the 70s or 80s. Just looks odd.

When I owned old Ferraris (1978 308GTS and later a 1987 328GTS) I installed Cibie 7" euro code headlights on one, and Hella Euro code on the other...just looked more appropriate, and wow, they performed much better than the crappy sealed beams.

Couldn't agree with you more. LED's and iPad wannabe radios in classic cars are a personal pet peeve. I have Cibie, Hella and (my new fav) Koito H4's in the vintage toys.
