Polls ??

I found a few polls here on BITOG, but I can't find the option to create a poll when starting a new thread. Is the poll option turned off now?

When starting a new thread, if I open the "More Options", there is no option to create a poll even though it says that's an option (see red box).

Yes I have noticed that too. I think they removed that feature.

I would love to create one, and queried about this before, it's clearly a feature the software has, but the choice has been made to disable it for whatever reason.

Maybe it detracts from the board somehow? Is a good question but I can see it leading to thread not being read maybe

There are way more things going on other than polls that "detracts from the board" ...

During the most current forum switch, there was a brief time when the poll option was left on (default).
It was then turned off.

I had posted a similar question a while back, with the response given that basically polls are not meaningful.

I wish we had polls too. Would come in handy when someone is asking what tire to buy etc. and instead of sitting through all the threads and making a tally, to see the results at the top. But of course also having the comments for people to have discussion on why the Bridgestone or Pirelli is a better option etc.

If we had the poll option we'd soon be doing nothing other than creating and taking polls with most new posts. I just know it.
