I just had to remove my 1 hp. (Heavy) garbage disposal to replace a bad gasket. I found it difficult to hold it in place while doing the attachment. I got the scissors jack out of my Miata and used that to hold it in place. Made it a lot easier.

I also have a 1 hp disposal and they are indeed heavy units.
This is the single reason why I seek out InSinkErator or Moen disposals.
My 1982 Mazda B1600 came with a scissor jack and I have been using it for decades to hold garburetors in place.
They all come with the quick locks but, unless you are exceptionally strong, it is difficult to hold up a heavy disposer with your arms extended out.
