Dropped off the Milan this morning, pre-story: it went to the shop yesterday for what seemed like a AC system that needed charged, the ac is cool but not cold.. and it would take several minutes for the inside temp on the car to cool down. the cooling system checked out perfect, however they ran out of time. The shop manager believes there is a problem under the dash as the thermometer in the vent only got down to 70 degrees, he stated it should get down to 40.

so I dropped it off again this morning on the way into work..

Place your bets, whats wrong with the cars cooling system ???

Its the blend door motor, motor is $50 some odd bucks and its 1.5 hours of labor and diagnostics for a $245 grand total. I can deal with that.

Good. On EATC cars they sometimes set codes for what's wrong.

Since yours is newer, I suggest you come to grips with this piece of software

http://forscan.org/

On older Fords, follow this self test guide

http://www.idmsvcs.com/2vmod/eatcswap/selftest.html

And, the Evap temp sensor will fail eventually, but armed with the software, you'll know for sure. And with a $30 part, you can DIY.

much thanks, I'm keeping this car till my wife's new car is paid off. We have owned it for 2 years now (purchased it with 21,000 miles in late 2012) now with 46,000 this is the first failure. the car spent the vast majority of its life sitting under a carport at a retirement home before we got it.. If memory serves me whenever you would turn the air on before you could hear like a "clunk" when turning on the A/C. Im guessing it was that blender door struggling.

Thanks for the input

The "cooling system" is the radiator, fans, hoses etc.

The a/c system is it's own system.

So what does "the cooling system checked out perfect" mean? They checked the refrigerant? Condition of condenser? ??
