I'm just wondering, what are the symptoms of a worn out pitman arm? I'm guessing the vehicle wouldn't be capable of going in a straight line without steering correction, even though the alignment is correct? Thanks.

I had one go bad on a '97 Expedition. The only symptom was an awful "creeking" sound when turning the wheel at slow speeds.

ALso jack the front end up,moving the tires back and forth and look for any play out of the pitman arm.If it is tight, leave it alone

On '97 to 04 Heritage Ford F150's (and the corresponding Expeditions) one symptom is a terrible creaking noise with the slightest twitch in the steering wheel or suspension. Truly annoying when you have the window down!
