Are Pirelli Scorpion Zero Tires normally noisy ? I noticed the other day when I was traveling down the highway on a slight bend that I had this loud humming sound. It got so loud I had to close the window. Is it the tires ?

My experience with Pirelli tires has been with more pedestrian offerings like the P4, P6 and long ago with Cinturados. They have all been sub optimal tires in most aspects. However my son had a Mustang GT 5.0 that came with P Zeros as OEM and I can testify that they are a fine compliment to a powerful performance car.

Are they normally noisy? In my limited experience, yes. Are some of their models competent high performance, absolutely. Are they a long lived, reliable tire for most of us? I don't think so.

Not sure why it matters but I drive like a little old lady
Haven't rotated them yet

based on that I'd say they are loud because you never rotated them. Rotation and esp. when you change the direction of the tire ie crossing rotation knocks evens the wear out on the tread blocks.

OTOH some tires just get loud when they are half worn.
