Pretty Typical Extra Guard. Media sure wasn't straight but no tears that I saw. Anti-drainback valve was pliable. Overall I think it did its job. Was replaced by a Champ XL and more syn-blend 5w-30. Was run on a 2002 Chevy Tracker 2.5 V6.

Yeah you do. 4 people near me have them as daily drivers. One guy even has a 4dr Metro small car as a backup.

I seldom see them here. I would notice - My wife had one before we were married. Which is odd because nothing rusts here, and they were pretty good cars.

Rusted out or ran out of steam around here mostly. I do still see them just nowhere near the amount in the early 2000's.

This one is very rusty.. Is the last version which is less desirable than the earlier Trackers. Runs good though

Bought this little tracker for a woods toy a couple a years ago only to realize it was way rustier than I initially thought. Post from when I got it is here:

Based on pics of the media and pleat spacing in seam pleat area, looks like it survived. Easily seen how the one badly distorted pleat was pulling down on the endcap. Allowing that it 'likely' didn't happen here, seen anecdotes like THIS posted where the cap pulled down enough to allow oil bypass. And topic at only 3k mi. which should be a walk in the park. My .02

If you have room, for whatever reason the oversized version of this filter PH3600 usually looks quite a bit better.

Made the 228th day of 2023. Hard to tell in the photos, but leaf spring might be a hair ruffled. Would also have to see the leaf spring impression on the end cap. Pleat spacing could have been better at the seam.
