No happy dreams for me watching that video 5 minutes before bed, too much adrenaline too sleep

An impressive car driven by someone with impressive skill...

Got to go now, to price one out on GMs website. Wife would be shocked, going from the Buick to that Camaro

It is absolutely a street legal race car. I'm fairly sure it's the same LT5 supercharged engine as the Vette. Based on the sound of things, I suspect he was running stock tires. He's at the edge of those tires the entire time. I still wish I knew who the driver was.

Here's a couple Porsche's. All these drivers are amazing. This guy is 2 foot the whole way and giving that passenger a real show. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C1Lrlqz3z_0
This one is nice because you can see how little his left foot touches the brake. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ror87RYTqE

... There's a little price difference between the Camaro and the Porsche. 70 Grand for the Camaro...
The Porsche: See for yourself. I have trouble with numbers that big. https://www.porsche.com/usa/models/911/911-gt2-rs/911-gt2-rs/

Does anyone know who the driver was?

Thanks for nuthin'!
Now my whole day will be shot watching Nurburgring videos.
There is a discussion under the video on YT that says the driver's name is Bill Wise. But that may be internet blather.
He was getting everything out of the tires in every turn, and very rarely went over the limit. And it was impressive at how well the suspension soaked up mid-corner bumps without upsetting the car.
Wish they had a Performance Data Recorder trace of the run.
He was not shy about revving the engine; he held 6400 rpm on the final straight up t0 167 mph, then shifted to 6th on the uphill. The way he came down through the gearbox from 170+ mph to get into a 60 mph turn was masterful. He probably didn't learn that in a couple of laps.

Out of respect for the car and the factory backed effort, the title should be 'ZL1 1LE'.

Anyway, here's my favorite. A non-factory backed effort. Just some enthusiasts who with some limited crowd funding, limited track time, and clearly not the best time it could've potentially set with a new driver on his first lap, set a record for a RWD, N/A, manual trans car.
