Reminds me of a story I read where a some guy would change the oil on his beetle by parking over a sewer drain. I guess he had to be good at catching the drain bolt!

There was a house in WNY down the road from where I used to live that had a set of metal ramps you could drive a car onto and walk under.

Tried to find it on the map, but the satellite image is a bit blurry to really make it out, but I think it was still there as of a few months ago.
