People born in the wrong decade

Tech always end up being commoditized and the powerful / rich always end up using it to their advantage due to economic of scale and first movers' advantage. This is humanity in a nut shell.

A lot of our tech today is really just enhancement of quality and for entertainment. We are reaching diminishing return all the time and we constantly have completely new things coming out. Basically, anything that human can do and is easy, will end up being automated eventually.

I don't think future generations will interact with people much in person, when everything is automated and remote. That also include romance and relationship (and hookup....)
Which goes straight to the heart of my questioning technology improving our lives holistically. But I digress...

Oh yeah, reminds me of the bit from Robocop when he wants a really fast car with bad gas mileage. You want the 6000 SUX.

I watched this movie for the first time in full on Christmas. It was... meh.

I laughed when I saw a Ford Mustang, looked vaguely like an EXP or whatever the Mercury version was... as an SUX 6000.

I had a 1985 Ford Escort EXP in Midnight Purple. I miss that one.

What was the interest rate?
My parents mortgage was going to be around 11 or 11.5%, in 79, due to delay on the sellers part and then delay due to work needing to be done to qualify for the VA loan the closing was delayed by 6 months and by then the rates were near 12% and that was a good rate then. Why they didn't just find another house when the seller started delaying everything is beyond me.

My dad turned 18 in 1978 he said he feels he was born at the right time lol. He still has all his records and 8 tracks and cassettes too lol and all his old Craftsman he bought back in the 70s and 80s which he gave to me. He has showed me many pictures of the cars and time period I would have fit right in. He said there was always fun and parties happening too lol. Nothing like today.

Oil changes at 3 months or 3,000 miles, whichever comes first.
That describes me. Consequently my vehicles last a lot longer. The oil I drain is recycled and used again.

Here we are coming into an age where EV's are increasingly popular, the reduction in not only the waste of fossil resources, but consumption in general

It takes a lot of fossil fuels and pollution to create a EV. Do the math and you will have to drive a EV car for over 50 years to get any reduction of the air quality used to produce just the batteries.
