Penzoil Semi-Synth

I just picked up 6 qts of Motorcraft 5W-20 semi-syn for the wife's car, but while I was at Wal-Mart, I noticed Penzoil's Semi-Syn. I'm a big fan of their Dino, but haven't read much on BITOG about their semi. It was $2.42 a qt vs. $1.43 for the Motorcraft.

Any quick comments/info?

Are you sure the Motorcraft 5W-20 is a synthetic blend, or is that just the rumor? In any case, it's good but nothing really special.

That price for the Pennzoil syn blend is too high. I don't feel that the performance is worth the price.

For the price difference stick with the Motorcraft. Very good oil at a good price.

Hey Doood,

Pennzoil has rebate of a $10 Shell gas card with the purchase of 6 qts of the Truck, SUV, Minivan blend through the end of the year. That makes it about $0.75 per qt to try it out. The coupon is attached to at least one bottle per 6 qt case. And you can do two rebates. Might make it cheap enough to try.
