Pentosin 5w-40 Synthetic. Any Information?

All I am an Audi driver who is looking into the proper fluids for a 2001 TT Roadster 225. I have been reviewing the fluids that are supposed to be used and want to know if anyone who is familiar with these cars can fill me in on some of the special fluids that need to be used. Thanks in advance.

It is a good oil mostly seen in Europe and Austraila. Penritie,Pentosin,Fuchs,Motul,Elf are all good synthetics but availability is often scarce in the USA and you will pay through the knose for them! You should be able to find a product that is much cheaper and still meets all the spec.'s you need for warranty from Mobil,Castrol,Synergen or Amsoil with out haveing to track down Pentosin!

I've seen Pentosynth 5W-40 online for under $6 per quart.

I was just curious to see if anyone had seen this oil anywhere, I know that I haven't. I use Mobil 1 T&S 5w-40.

http://www.ecstuning.com sells Pentosin "Pentosynth" 5w40 synthetic oil in an oil change kit for your Audi for $34.95. That price includes 5 qt's of oil, a Mann or Mahle filter & a new drain plug/washer combo. They also sell the oil for $5.99/qt. if you don't want the filter & drain plug.

You can find a 5 quart jug of Pentosynth 5W-40 (VW502/505 spec -- there's also VW 505.01 version!) for $28.95 or 1 quart for under $6 at autobahnfluids.com.
