This filter along with Safety Kleen synthetic 0w20 was on for 6,900 miles. I did last oil change. Same filter and oil went in and on. 2019 FWD Equinox

Date code format, inlet holes, baseplate and element would seem to indicate Purolator US made. That said, I've 'never' seen Purolator US use that type bypass design. Looks more like Champ Labs or Fram bypass type. Weird. Perhaps something new from M&H.

I cut a Pennzoil filter for ford and GM suv and trucks that was same as this. Lately ones we use at work now made in China/a Vietnam and I think those look way better

^^^ As noted, topic seems to be Purolator US made, just never seen one with a detachable bypass compression spring combo. Always been attached to dome endcap flat spring or internal coil spring. Have to see if this bypass type starts showing up on other than made for jobber filters. Looks like a copy of Champ Labs.

Yeah, it is odd indeed
