As indicated on Pennzoil's website, Platinum 10W30 is "SN Plus Ready." Was looking over the stock in my local Walmart and found nothing on the 5-quart jugs that indicated anything other than SN. Date codes were as recent as Nov 2017. Since I have a GDI engine, using an oil that addresses LSPI is important to me and SN Plus satisfies that requirement. How does one determine if the Platinum 10W30 jugs sitting on the shelf are SN Plus Ready?
FWIW, the Platinum 5W30 jugs on the shelf show the Dexos1 Gen2 label, which addresses LSPI and timing chain wear, leaving nothing to the imagination. Just may have to go with 5W30 to make sure that I'm covered.
