Pennzoil oil filters - who makes them?

On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the best, a Pennzoil filter is probaly a 2. They are the same as a Quaker State filter.
 
If you use a Pennzoil lube center for service, they will gladly use any filter you bring with you and give you a $2 credit.

No reason to put an orange turd on your car.
 
In my neck of the woods Pennzoil filters are Purolater clones...string around the element,by-pass valve,ADV an exact copy inside...cut both open

Which just shows to go you that you can't depend on the label or paint job on the outside to tell you who made your filter. Or a couple year old filter disection web page either. There seems to be a lot of filter source changing going around.
