Putting this in the humor section as I know many will laugh at me--- justifiably so.

Working in SE Asia, and observing the street dogs daily for the past 120 +/- days. The street dogs are street smart, and generally stay off the road, never venture on limited access highways.

Today Wednesday 25FEB2025, the dogs have been out on the streets in mass, over 25 square miles. Divided highways, limited access highways, urban roads, private roads-- the dogs are out in the street in mass. It is often said wildlife/ animals can sense a pending natural disaster. We shall see.

Where are you in south east asia? I am in malaysia, and I wouldn't call the street dogs street smart, a lot of them get killed or paralysed being hit by vehicles.

We used to walk several blocks to get lunch in Romania. A dog would suddenly appear and walk along side of you for a while - then cut away. Had to explain to the newbie’s - the dog just used us to walk past a rival gang … 😷

If they start looking at you funny just keep this in mind.

I have cameras setup at 2 different properties, at the remote ranch my mom noticed no feral cat activity since 10pm feb 24th. I checked the cameras and she was right, only a few raccoons have come in, one of them limping.

When there is an earthquake there are 2 waves. The first to arrive is a compression wave, which results in a "bang". That is followed a few seconds or tens of seconds later by the lateral wave which results in shaking. The time interval between the arrival of the waves depends primarily on the distance to the epicenter.

Wild animals and dogs hear the bang and create a fuss, thus foretelling the shaking which will start shortly.

Decades ago the one on my avatar started barking and wailing like nuts while we were visiting friends in their appartment. Then it eventually came to hide between my legs. A minute or so later an earthquake hit.
