I just do an oil change for '94 LS400, it's recommending either 5W30 or 10W30. I use Peak Oil 10W30 I have FAR from PB few weeks ago, when I pour it into engine it looks very thin, as thin as M1 0W20 or PP 5W20. I wonder if Peak made mistake having 5W20 grade in 10W30 bottles.

I just did an oil change on my 4runner today. I put Peak 5w30, like you said, it seems so thin compared to other brands that I have with the same grade. The old/used oil was so thick and dark-brownish, I don't know what grade did the previous owner put in there.

Um, yeah, you WANT it thin at room temperature. That doesn't necessarily mean it's going to be thin at operating temperatures.

Its only around 9.8-10 cst out of the bottle, so its not really that far off a 20-weight oil.

Doesn't mean anything bad; look at Havoline DS - 9.7 out of the bottle for both 5W-30 and 10W-30, and its a great oil!
