I need a Reader which is simple to use doesn't require too much effort to magnify etc. I'm running win7 64bit. I currently have Adobe Reader which displays all kinds of "helpful" stuff and disregards what I want to read.
Thanks Guys

I sometimes forget this since my Ubuntu Mate setup comes with a .pdf viewer but Firefox (which is faster on my computer, use Chrome on other devices) does a wonderful job of viewing .pdf''s

I've used some version of Adobe Reader for years across several computers/versions of Windows and not once has it ever caused me one bit of trouble, which leaves me wondering....what am I doing right/wrong/differently/ vs everyone else who feels something else is needed?

I haven't used Adobe Reader since I switched to Linux about six years ago, but wasn't there some discussion of security problems? Probably shouldn't even mention it, cause Adobe is back in my ancient history.

Open Source, for users of MacOSX, not finicky about OS version, works perfectly in-browser or offline.

Skim

https://skim-app.sourceforge.io/

Note: I've provided a link for convenience, but like any link in a web post, it is not guaranteed to be secure or safe. The prudent user never clicks on web links in eMail or on the web unless you are confident it is genuine. The alternative is to search yourself, suggest "Skim OSX" as your search terms. You want a Sourceforge link.

I uninstalled free Sumatra when I found it lagging when I scrolled down some Newspaper homepages to advance to the next page and it kept stalling. But it worked fine in newspaper formats where you mouse click for a sideways view of the next page.

Foxit reader is the one to use.

Recommended to me right in this forum from a few people and I have been using it for some time now, works perfect.

Forget Chrome, forget Chrome everything, retarded all the information we provide to google so they can package it and sell it to the highest bidder.
Time for the world to say no more.
