Painting $$$$$ question: same color vs. changing color

Anybody have some ballpark numbers on what it costs to repaint a vehicle (small pickup)a different color versus keeping it the original color?

I'm looking at a good paint job but not a show car job.

& No I won't do it myself with a brush and roller....

Generally speaking.........the prep work is the key to a good paint job........and is more expensive than just shooting it with paint. To change the color, there will be more prep work in certain areas. Such as.....usually the door jambs and hinges or firewall aren't painted with a standard paint job. A good body shop will do the prep work for you, but you will pay out the nose for it. It only takes a few hours to shoot a car with paint.........but the prep work may take a week.

Yeah, I'll keep it the same color.
