I can't see what you are referring to as being "offset." I haven't had a P1 apart but the ADBV doesn't have anywhere to go by design As long as is covers up every inlet hole,I doubt that it would fail to seal on the underside of the plate. Regards

Stop the video at the 1 minute mark and look at the ADBV. Then look at PIC #1 I posted and you will see the ADBV offset towards the inlet holes at the 6 o'clock position.

This is a MC FL-400S, which is made by Purolator. As you might know, it too has the silicone ADBV. Notice how the ADBV is evenly spaced all around under the inlet holes.

Yeah, something looks out of place on that PureOne ADBV.

All the more reason to use the FL-400S!

We suffer from the same disease. Over lunch, I was in Kmart, looking at oil filters.

There is no known cure for this.

Your pictures are not working for me though.

KC, what pics can't you see? I can DL them on another pic site and re-post them here.

Z06, can y'all see these pics? They are the same as above.

What's your thoughts on that ADBV being offset?

Based on this photo, I'd say the ADBV was not seated in its proper position when the filter was assembled.

True. And it looks as if it was stretched after the end cap was installed. I don't think the ADBV is going to work properly. Am I correct? What are your thoughts?

I posted these pics to show Hosteen what a properly installed ADBV looks like on a Purolator/Motorcraft filter. Notice nothing offset.
I have seen quite a bit of Purolator P1 faults posted here lately. Looks like "QC" needs some help.

I wouldn't trust it to work right. Definitely wouldn't buy/use that one. That's why I give every filter I buy my own QC inspection before getting to the cash register.

I see the offset you're talking about now. I don't know if it would seat properly in use or not, but I don't think I'd try to use it to find out.

You know what the kicker is? There was at least 6-8 of these filters on the shelf and the 1st one I pick has a defect. Makes you wonder, huh?

No, I did not. I did not even think about that at the time.
I have to go to the doctor again in (2) weeks and will go to that KMART again and look at random filters. They have a HUGE supply of Purolator oil filters.
