I was referring got the Reliant tire. Sorry if I wasn't clear. The Continental TrueContact Tour 54 is not a Walmart only tire, I see it listed on other tire stores online page with a similar starting price of $205

Not anymore, both wife and I are upper 40's and no longer in a hurry to get places.Passenger car tires are all 9-11/32, new, no?
Maybe yes, maybe no.
High miler or softer performance tire?
Do you have a heavy foot?
I kinda thought if I was to select one tire brand from good experiences, it'd be Continental.
I am, however, open to other avenues of thought.
AND keep checking!
To slacktide_bitog: Great informative post. a.From experience?, b.You Slime?
You sound ready to buy.
TrueContact Tour maybe? I forget. It was from my Dad's homecare giver as a thank you after he passed. Thanks, that's the kind of upgrade I'm looking for.
You don't happen to remember the model of Continentals?
The OEM energy savers on my Cobalt had 7/32 from the factory, OEM tires that come on the car new from the factory many times don’t have a typical amount of tread. What was new, 9/32?
I don't know if I can link another car forum. But I can tell you on other forums a prevalent complaint is noise. Specifically for yours and earlier years. So I'm not fan of Michelins-but in your case they may be a consideration-deal or not.The majority of cabin noise is from the tires, on a newer smooth stretch of highway, it is very quiet.
Kumho SUCKS and performed awfully for me as an OEM tire. Most of your view is misinformed. OK-how many years ago did you run any of these tires?
The Kumho Crugen HT51 gets solid reviews and has been compared to a Michelin.
Because I know most have just released a new generation of tires.

OP is plenty informed.
Don't see any rebates on the Continental website, but will check next month again.@Sj08 - check the Continental website also with their rebates. Nov '23 I opened a Continental Tire credit card and used it next day at local tire dealer. I bought my son 4 Conti True Contact Tour (not 54). The tires were cheaper, mounted/balanced than if I ordered 4 from TireRack and had shipped to the same place and then mounted. They are TR recommended installer.
If you used the Conti credit card they doubled the rebate so $220 off a set of 4. Discount tire direct had the same thing further back. So if you are not opposed to opening a new CC and use only for that purpose it's an option. I paid it off end of month in full.
The Goodyear WeatherReady 2 got good test results on Tirerack and they had some good sale and rebates going a month or two ago.
As mentioned, watch the video reviews/tests on Tire Rack and then decide.
I put Pirelli Scorpion AS+2 on my daughters '08 CRV a couple years ago. I bought them because of the noise and overall ratings and they lived up to that over the worn Defenders.Like mentioned totally different vehicle. I wouldn't hesitate to get the Pirelli AS3 based on them and the Pirelli P7 AS+2 on my Accord. Caveat is neither is used in winter as I have dedicated winter tires.
The Conti LX25 gets almost constant good reviews for all around including good winter.
Thanks for the links, I will keep checking.Keep checking here randomly https://continentaltire.com/offers and on websites like Tire Rack.
Current deals showing at Tire Rack https://www.tirerack.com/specialoffers/specialoffers.jsp which has $80 off multiple brands and teh road hazard etc. Do you have a Discount Tire by you? They often have a 30 day happiness thing if you don't like them.
Noise is subjective to the user but does change. My sister has CC2's on Rav4 Hybrid. She loves them for noise and grip.
MPG's are always a topic and depending on use may play a larger role to some. How many miles do you drive yearly? 2mpg lower from my average highway MPG at 15k/year would = 35 gallons more for the year for the increases potential traction. In some of my cars and how they are used that may only be 10 gallons more.
I'm not a GY fan based on my passed experiences. The GY WeatherReady 2 had some good sales going that based on tests/reviews would make it that I probably would have tried them if I was buying tires at that point.
After that if I REALLY don't like something, I can always get rid of them and sell used or maybe get prorated return for customer satisfaction.
They can compare Kumho to space shuttle, but it is Kumho. Most of your view is misinformed. OK-how many years ago did you run any of these tires?

Don’t get into how much you drive per year. You drive! When you drive, you want tire to perform as best as it can. Thanks for the links, I will keep checking.
Don't have a Discount tire anywhere in the state.
I don't live near a Sam's club, but am a plus member getting a reduced rate add on from a family member. Usually get back there once a month and see they have a pretty good price on Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus 3 $818, and Weatheractive $968, includes free rotations and road hazard. Price is everything except disposal. Offer good until end of May, so I can use that as the price to beat while searching. Right now cheaper than Tire Rack, plus the cost of mounting and balance.
We only been driving less than 10k/year, but have some trips planned that will be more than that in the summer alone. Not that concerned about slight mpg hit, just looking at pro's and cons of each type of tire.
