This is a letter that's being handed out to customers and stuck everywhere at GM dealerships. I've taken a photograph of it with my camera phone, but the bloody thing just won't connect to my notebook. In the meantime:

Open Letter from the President of General Motors Middle East

Dear Valued Customers,

I am writing to assure you that General Motors (GM) is here to stay. GM has been successfully operating in the Middle East for more than 80 years and we look forward to many more years to come.

As you may know, General Motors in the United States of America (USA) is using a court-supervised process to quickly launch a new, highly competitive company built upon only the strongest parts of our business. This process DOES NOT involve liquidation of the company. This process will allow the launch of the 'New GM' as a leaner company with a significantly stronger balance sheet, a world-class product line-up, a global footprint and industry-leading expertise and technology.

General Motors' operations in the Middle East ARE NOT part of the U.S. chapter 11 filing.

GM in the Middle East operates under the name of GM Overseas Distribution Corporation. This is a self-funded, vibrant and profitable company and we will continue to conduct business normally through our dealer network, as we have done over the years. We will continue to provide our customers and dealer partners with award-winning cars and SUVs along with the region's best customer care and parts availability.

GM Warranty: Current and future owners of GM cars - Chevrolet, GMC, Cadillac and Hummer - across the region, can rest assured that we will honour all warranty commitments given at the time of purchase.

GM Dealers: GM dealers across the Middle East are open for business as usual and will continue to honour service and parts commitments and help you purchase your next GM vehicle.

GM Vehicles: GM's exciting new product plan is on track and well represented in the Middle East. The iconic Chevrolet Camaro is entering our dealer showrooms in July. The highly acclaimed Chevrolet Malibu and Chevrolet's new global car, the all-new Cruze, are making their regional debuts in October as well as the all-new Cadillac SRX. The all-new GMC Terrain is on track for its December launch.

For generations, GM has helped shape the Middle East's automotive landscape and the region's passion for automobiles. Propelled by the spirit and commitment of our people and dealers and with the support of our customers, we are determined to continue to drive the region forward with world-class cars and customer service.

Yours sincerely,

Michael J. Devereux
President - General Motors Middle East.

Very nice to see that the global operations are doing well. Too bad that cash didn't flow to the books of the US bankrupt corporation LOL! Thanks for sharing.

LOL! Seeing a Fiat on the road is a rather rare occurrence. But if you're asking about Chrysler, their most popular vehicles tend to be the Charger, 300C and Grand Cherokee. The Nito is somewhat popular.
