open black walnut trick

i thought i posted this once. i bought a nut crusher but black walnuts are VERY hard . what trick do you have?

Apply the pressure points at the tips of the shell.

A large set of Channel Locks opens them easily.

Same here. I abandoned nutcrackers when my $5 nutcracker broke after two pounds of nuts. I've been using a $2 pair of slip-joint pliers for the past 30 years. They will never break or wear out from cracking nuts.
