Running 10 gallons of nitro in a few seconds through 32 injectors in that solid block with needle roller cam bearings doesn't help either.

That is a lot of money sitting in pieces on the floor! Look at the counter weights on the crankshaft, looks like they are rounded on the ends, I'm guessing for aerodynamics at high RPM's.

You could buy a nice little 2nd home with the money it took to build that-what aluminum block has sleeves like that?

This is why cast aluminum blocks have been banned from use in the NHRA Nitro ranks for a while now. Everything is currently billet. This appears to be a cast aluminum BBF. Block doesn't appear to be solid judging by the pictures.

A billet Hemi from Noonan, AJPE, or BAE is more affordable than you'd think. It's the consumables like bearings, pistons, rods that get expensive quick.

Crank guys call that "Knife edging" and its is usually for windage and aero reduction Iv hear it decided as helpful in balancing as well as they have another areas to shave.

Looks like it might have been hard blocked, difference in color can be seen on the rear cylinder where the water jacket would be. Hard block is essentially engine concrete made for filling water jackets for strength. Not super familiar with the BBF architecture but on a solid BBC or Hemi solid blocks don't utilize any core/freeze plugs as there's no need to get casting sand out of a solid block.

Either way it doesn't matter much now, since it's all junk.

Do these engines even have oil filters? They are rebuilt after every few runs so why bother?

Wonder what the last UOA looked like ?

Probably perfect wear numbers with high fuel dilution. Remember the guy with a Grand National with a great UOA from an engine that was blown to pieces?
