Bought a 2004 Mazda truck, 2.3L 4 cylinder DOHC Duratec motor. It has 50K miles on it. Previous and only owner took it to Iffy Lube every 5-7K miles and used 5w-20 Pennzoil YB.

Inside of the valve cover is SPOTLESS. No varnish, no sludge, just shiny aluminum.

Truck runs flawlessly

Made a believer out of me. Pennzoil 5w-20 is good stuff!

Believe or not I had a salesman at NAPA tell me that one while I was getting some of the NAPA synthetic on sale the other day.

peterdaniel,

Sounds like a great truck and you have a wonderful starting place with it being in such good condition. At 50K, now is a good time to start changing out the other fluids which will help keep this new-to-you truck in tip top shape. But, I'll bet you already knew this! Congratulations and best of luck with your new ride.
