Good Morninf filter porn addicts. What is the oldest oil filter you have used on a vehicle, outdoor power equipment or tractor, etc? I used an early 2000’s or 90’s FRAM tough guard that we never figured out date code of. On my old Camry.

8-9 year old Purolator One filters. By the time I use up all of my stash of them they'll be nice & crispy. 😅 J/K If they get that bad obviously I'll buy some new ones.

Here's what they look like used in my 6.0L Diesel

I have an Advance red grippy Purolator from 2006-ish going on my Miata come spring.

I've run 20 year old Fram filters. Disassembled one to see how things were, media was still good feeling, not "dusty" and the ADBV still pliable.

I'd have no problem using an 'older' filter.
But I store mine in the basement where it does not get too hot or cold.
That's where I also store my oil stach.

Ha...we fired up a friend's relative's abandoned 1950 Buick and drove it a bit.
Since we drove the car, we USED the filter...therefore the oldest for me.

HONESTY DISCLAIMER: I didn't look for, nor recall, actually seeing a filter.

Morning not Morninf! LOL
Adam, I have always bought new Oil Filters, so would the new Oil Filter I bought and used in 1984 count as the Oldest Oil Filter that I have used?

I was doing an oil change on the Opel and thought that I had a new filter. Wrong. I ended up grabbing and using an old Napa filter which was just hanging around as decoration in the garage. I still have it if someone wants to cut it.

I worked on a farm in the late 90’s and went on an oil changing binge one week. There was an old Massey Ferguson tractor I changed the oil and filter on. They had stashes of filters up in the attic of the shop and I was told the “new” Massey- branded filter I used was bought in the early 70’s.

Afaik and can remember the oldest one I've ever used was a 9-year-old Bosch Distance Plus 3323, posted c&p HERE. As can be seen, looked and worked great. The BD+ did come in a nice clear plastic box. Wouldn't have paid regular price for one, but for ~$3.50 a no brainer.

Found a old "Tech 2000" Wal-Mart oil filter that predated Supertech name. Had to be 1980's vintage. Ran it in a beater Toyota Corolla in 2009.

I've seen YT videos of Whip City Wrencher cutting filters open that were DECADES old that were none the worse for wear. I'm pretty certain they don't have an expiration date.

Oil is a differrent story and wouldn't trust something that's been sitting on the shelf for a few years.
