Found this old wix at a habitat store so I bought it. Looks good. Might use it on something of mine. Can anyone date it. Oh and if anyone ask what to do with a dented vehicle, this can says what could happen in the last picture.

Well, Dana sold Wix in July 2004 so at least that old. Can't discern 'all' date code numbers, figure they might be clearer in person. What do you see?

I worked for Big A. When they sold to Carquest in 98 they had to sell off a few stores and distribution centers to AllPro Auto Parts. My wharehouse become AllPro/AutoValue/BumperToBumper.

Definitely an old filter!

Back in the mid 80's I worked for NAPA a Big A was 1/2 mile down the road and both had the old Wix high quality oil filters... Back when EVERYTHING was made better.

This particular Oil filter fit my Ford Escort I was driving then.

I’d run that filter in my wife’s Corolla. That size Ford filter works on many Toyotas. The original filter for her car is literally the same one on my Kawasaki-powered John Deere walk-behind mower.

Yup that's an oldie. Thanks for the pics.
I run the regular WIX 51516 filter in my 2006 Tacoma 2.7L... had to shave a bit off a bracket for the extra length but otherwise it is golden.

Well look there, that’s my hometown! I used to have a few family members who worked at the main Wix plant on the west side of town. (my avatar is a photo of the main gate where employees drive in). The people who founded Wix started it there because Gastonia ( and Gaston County as a whole) was once a major world centre for spinning yarns and fibre processing. As a kid, me and my brother would ride our bikes up to an area behind one of the other plants they had and you could see them offloading bales of cotton off of rail cars. The cotton was used as the cellulose component of the filter media.
