My neighbor asked to borrow some tools to change his spark plugs a few days ago. He came back with the tools and this plug. Do you think it was time to change the plugs? This came out of a 2001 Dodge Durango with 160K on it. This might be the original plug from 2001. Unsurprisingly, he says the Durango is running much better after the plug change.

Amazingly, this is the same neighbor (and the same Durango) who inspired this post some years ago:

I have seen much much worse that were still functioning. These newer engines are so much easier on them.

Should have been changed out about 60,000 miles ago. Com'on....how much does a set of plugs cost?

What brand was the plug out of the Durango?

Champion. RC12MCC4 which is the OEM plug for this car. It's a copper plug.
