I did a search and read and read but can't find out what exactly PAO stands for and what it is. Is it a base stock type or and additive pack? Thanks for helping out the newbie.
tryn, In addition to the search mode, we used to have essentially a learning library that many of the newer folks are overlooking, check out the home page of BITOG ( not the forums) and dig in. Including a glossary.
Also Molakule has written many in depth reference papers here that are better than you would get at many college level tribological courses.
As BITOG grows it will be encumbent on the learners/searchers to do some midnight oil burning
hunting for informational gold !
Enjoy the process.
PAO = Poly alpha olefin, one of many forms of synthesized hydrocarbons used in lubrication and cosmetics. ref. Dyson guide to lubricants.
