Can anyone predict what you'd see in a UOA where oil was too thin or too thick for the clearances in an engine?

Obviously it would really depend on the engine architecture. However, generally, does this have an effect more on bearing surfaces for example, or cylinder wall/rings, or cam lobes?

Maybe this is too broad a question, however, I'd appreciate learning from peoples' responses on this topic.

Fire away!

Doubt you could easily buy an oil too thick or too thin for a given engine. Most engines would do just fine on anything from 0w20 to 20w50 (given reasonable ambient temps).
