Bring it! Lots of old time BITOGers ears perked upSo whats next...a revival of AutoRX?
I had really good results using Auto RX way back in 2002, it drastically reduced the oil consumption in my 1995 Firebird Formula (with the 275hp LT1 V8)Bring it! Lots of old time BITOGers ears perked up.
I think it was more like 80% TGMO 0w20 and 20% M1 0w40.When I started hanging around the site, all the talk was about the “Caterham Blend” - half TGMO 0W-20 and half M1 FS 0W-40.
What ever happened to Caterham?
As in John Moses Browning? He was a legend with the likes of Ferdinand Porsche and Soichiro Honda and to some aspect Mr Mikhail Kalashnikov and Gaston and his gats.Don’t forget John Browning…he was a gem
KREEN FOR WN!So whats next...a revival of AutoRX?
Auto-Rx stopped a lifter tick in my 4.6 Ford modular engine in just a bit over 500 miles. This was somewhere around 2007, I think!I had really good results using Auto RX way back in 2002, it drastically reduced the oil consumption in my 1995 Firebird Formula (with the 275hp LT1 V8)
It was a screen name here…he posted some bizarre things during his tenure. As in John Moses Browning? He was a legend with the likes of Ferdinand Porsche and Soichiro Honda and to some aspect Mr Mikhail Kalashnikov and Gaston and his gats.
Since green stuff, Castrol is slowly cheapening it out. For starters, it has been a long time, probably 20yrs since it has been green. They eliminated Ketjenlube esters (green color). Green version was only W30 oil that had Porsche A40 as HTHS was extremely high for 30 grade and very shear stable.I posted about this unopened GC on eBay - https://ebay.us/m/r8JkvN - months ago and it’s still listed; at $200 for 6 bottles I can see why.
Is the new Edge (euro) 0W-30 it’s equal or successor?
Did someone say LC20 and GC?So whats next...a revival of AutoRX?
ESP 0W30 is better oil. Esters, PAO and GTL.While not PAO based, this seems to be a worthy (if slightly lesser) alternative. Meets all the VW, MB and Porsche requirements:

Harder to find, more expensive, and not as good as M1 ESP 0W-30.While not PAO based, this seems to be a worthy (if slightly lesser) alternative. Meets all the VW, MB and Porsche requirements:
