In case anyone wants to know, this mornings Sunday Los Angeles Times has an add for Kragen. They show synthetic blends for $1.99 a quart. They list Valvoline, Pennzoil, Quaker State, Castrol and Chevron. The coupon also has a Mobil logo so I would assume that Mobil would be included.
Another coupon has Valvolyne conventional oil at $.79 a quart after with a mail in rebate if purchased in case quantity (limit one case).
Still another coupon has Mobil 5000 for $.89 a quart after mail in rebate if purchased in case quantity (limit one case).

I found Phillips Trop-Arctic 10w-30 synthetic blend at the Dollar Tree in Rockford, IL. Apparently, there are still some store that carry this stuff.
I found Chevron Supreme (non-syn SM) for $10.68 per case with a $4.80 mail-in rebate that works out nicely to .49 per quart at a local Kragen.
