Oil recomendation for 2005 Malibu Maxx lt

186,000 miles. I am running OS Ultimate and a Purolator classic filter as of now. Short trips, between 10 to 20 miles a day. I am thinkin a napa gold filter and either maxlife synthetic or qs defy. What about the Castrol high mileage oil, that any good? thanks!

I have one with the V6. It slurps down anything I drop down the fill hole and purrs like a kitten. Currently have Maxlife synblend and a purolator P1 installed. OLM usually wants it changed between 7 and 7.5k with 60/40 split of short trips and hwy.

I like the Defy...i will be switching over to Defy on my Toyota on my next OC. I also use K&N oil filters. So far so good. I have accumulated a lot of miles on both my vehicles with this combo and never had any issues. I have read great reviews on Napa Gold oil filters and would use with confidence.

Do you have an Ecotec 2.2? Havoline Full Synthetic worked best in my 2003 ION that had a 2.2L Ecotec.
Do you have a 2.4L Ecotec? Valvoline Full Synthetic works best in my dad's 2007 Pontiac G6.

As for V6 engines, I am not sure what is best.
