If you think you are paying too much lately for your oil, have a look in here:
e-shop in greece
The prices are in euros, which means 20% higher compared to $.
The funny thing is that some blends cost more than some synthetics.

And one last thing , these prices are the cheapest you can find here.

In June, I saw a litre of SLX GM in an autobahn service station for €20 or €21 a litre!

Is it me, or is every Greek person named Yanni?

Its strange that the Valvoline DuraBLEND costs more than the full synthetic Synpower. The 5w40 Valvoline diesel oil seems like a pretty good deal at 5.40 a litre. It meets VW and MB specs. If I lived in Europe I'd own a Skoda diesel and use that oil.

I was in Germany last month, my company car ran out of oil on autobahn, I had to buy oil at a gas station, 1 liter Castrol SLX long life 5W30 cost me €24.95! (0W30 is a €1.00 lower.) I almost had a heart attack!

Are you sure??
I had aral in my mind ,the blend BASIC TRONIC SAE 10W/40 at 7.5e is more expensive than MOTUL 8100 5W40 X-cess (14e for 2 liters)!!
And the MOTUL 4100 TURBOLIGHT 10W40 4LT at 24e is only 4e cheaper than 5W40 X-cess...

Yanni,

What about a brand of Greek Oil called Hellas?
It is domestic and meets all the specs, like everybody elses.

About the Yannis, don't forget the Nicks and Georges, and Spiros, too.
Not unlike BUBBA, down South, overhere in the good ol'USA!
