So I just changed the oil on my Volvo. It takes 7.4 qts with filter change. I put in 8 because it burns oil pretty fast. I started it up afterwards and it ran fine so I just shut it off. When I went out later, I noticed my oil pressure was higher than usual. Normally my gauge reads anywhere from 2-4 bar, but today it was reading 4-5 bar. When I stopped, I checked underneath the car and saw a pretty fast oil drip coming from the pan. There was a slow drip coming from the drain plug, but most of it was coming from above. Is this the result of adding the extra 0.6 qts?

The car is a 1984 Volvo 240 diesel wagon. The engine is a 2.4-liter straight six sourced from Volkswagen. Not a lot of info on it out there.

Oil pump pressure relief valve give up the ghost? You did use the right oil weight, right?
