Motor oil recommendation 2000 yr. New Holland (Ford) 1920 Compact Tractor.
Shibaura 2.0L 4-cyl diesel engine.
33 engine HP
750 hours.
Rotella 15w-40 since new.

I estimate approx. 50 - 100 hrs. a year of light to medium use.
Lots of start ups with little use.
South Louisiana. Rarely get below freezing.

Tag on engine: CD, 10w-30, 10w-40 yr. around use
SAE 10 - >32°F
SAE 20 - 32°F - 50°F
SAE 30 - >50°F
Operator Manual:
SAE 10W -13°F to 40°F
SAE 10w-30 from 0°F to >100°F
SAE 15w-40 from 10°F to >100°F
SAE 20w-40 from 20°F to >100°F
SAE 20w-50 from 20° to >100°F
SAE 30 from 40° to > 100°F

I thinking Rotella T5 10w-30
Start up wear 5w-30 may be better. Appears hard find here.

I more of Mobil guy so I think going with Mobil Delvac ESP 5w-40.
These modern low-emission designs etc. confuse me and worry me.
Am I correct that CK-4 is back spec. to CD and safe to use here?

My little Yanmar was built around 1975. I live in south La, more like north of the lake, and for the past 11 years I have the tractor I always used
Chevron Delo 15/40, This past month it has been getting a good workout with dragging trees down from the hurricane.

I see Walmart has Rotella T4 15w-40 for $13.34 per Gallon.
Is that the going rate or on sale?

15w40 would be fine especially for your climate.

Dad has a 1980 1500 (also a Shibaura) that we run T5 in. I think back then it was only straight 30 and 15w40 in the manual.

I've been running either T5 10w30 premium blue or delo 10w30 in my NH TC30 since i got it.

I've thought about running 5w40 but i have a surplus of 10w30 and I've been running it year round with no issues.

That's the going price on "conventional" diesel oil.
Mobil has the Delvac rebate going on right now, Walmart has Full Synthetic Delvac Extreme 15W40 for 21.82 and the Delvac rebate would knock off $9.
