Hi guys, new member here with a question. I have a 2004 F-150 with the 4.6L and 86K. Currently running Quaker State Ultimate Durability Q horsepower. Is there anything better for it or is it a good oil?
Good oil, at a good price; but I would switch to 5W20 as that is what is spec'd for that engine. I would also switch to a Motorcraft FL820S in lieu of the Fram.
Thanks for the reply, will probably switch back to 5w20 now, just trying out the 10w30. As for the filter, I know FRAM is very disliked but I have never had a problem. What problems are there with them?
Consider Pennzoil Platinum 5w-20 and a motorcraft filter. We use PP in all our vehicles; it is a great oil. Those 4.6 engines are very durable, it should give you many years of great service.
Wrong oil viscosity & definetly wrong [censored] FRAM Filter! You should be using nothing but a MotorCraft FL-820-S filter! Your Modular 4.6 requires 5w-20 oil!!!
