oil filter getting too hot????

95 Camry.The oil filter is around 4" from the pre-cat.This day,when i checked the filter,the decal was kinda curled up and sorta burned. Should i do a remote filter setup?

just put a heat shield on the kitty or between the kitty the filter. nothing fantastic, u can get metal flashing from lowes.

Filter case - steel.

I wouldn't worry until you see a hole burned in the filter.

Can't get any hotter that the oil touching the hot surfaces inside the motor. Plus there is a constant large flow rate thru it.

The oil filter on the WRX is less than 0.5" from my exhaust manifold. Suffice it to say I'm sure my exhaust gets hotter than a Camry's exhaust. I'm not worried.
