Oil extractor options

I am considering buying an oil extractor. Is there a certain one I should lean towards or certain features to consider?

The Mityvac 7201 is popular and works well.

Make sure that an extractor is known to work well with the applications you have in mind. Not all engines / sump designs work well with extractors.

This. 100%

Mine works great for some applications, which makes it worth the $100 price tag. It does not work at all or very well for other applications.

The harbor freight knockoff ones are pretty good too..
I have their 6gal air powered model and its between totally useless and best tool ever depending on application.(as all oil extractors are)

Subaru could only drain 2.5/5qts out.
pontiac 2.4 95% oil removed,
deere 316/318 tractors about 90% comes out which is way better than messing with their terrible drain valve that is round and right next to the frame rail in a tiny access hole.

Pretty handy on transmissions too even if you are dropping the pan it reduces the mess.

Has anyone had any experience on the four uncle's brand? They are priced well and reviews look decent on Amazon.

Noting which extractors work and those which do not should be a sticky thread.
A thread listing which cars work with popular extractors like the Mityvac 7201 and ones which don't would also be good.

Thats a d!@@ good idea.

HF has a 2.3Gallon unit that is a knockoff of the mityvac 7xxx something.
89-20% off coupon.

I'm on my second extractor. My first was the Topsider. The Topsider was very finicky. I had that for 5 years. About 1 yr ago, I switched to West Marine's 6.9 Quart extractor. I LOVE the West Marine version. So super fast and easy. It feels like cheating. I use it whether I am changing the oil filter or not. I don't touch my drain plug but once in a blue moon. ATF changes are a joke they are so fast.

Had a Topsider, got leaky and too small for Mercedes diesel sumps. Had a Mityvac, needed too much pumping for my likes.
Got a $16 battery powered Chinese fluid pump from Amazon and $3 in clear vinyl tubing from Home Depot. 5 minutes, clean, 9 quart drains straight into jugs for 10 years now. Very happy.
