Oil Drainplug Crush ring/washers

I have only had a problem one time. I decided to try copper on a Tacoma. When I reused it, I had to go back several times to retighten to stop a small drip, finally stopped. Thought it would be tough to get off, but no problem. Used the another copper one, but I won't reuse it. Will go back to aluminium.

The one on my Altima, I've never changed it. It looks/seems to be a part of the drain plug now.

But, I've never had a leak. (knock wood)

look up "pressure sealing washers" they are a metal washer with a rubber insert. I think they'd be a good substitute for a crush washer.

Washers? What are those? Fumoto valves on every car I service.
