Just bought this as a tow vehicle for some fishing and hunting. It is not 4 wheel drive. What type & weight oil would you folks recommend for this. It has 105,000 miles with no oil usage.

You can run just about anything you want in that truck from 5w30 to 15w40, and the engine will most likely outlast the rest of the truck.

Nice ride! Agreed, anything really. 10w30 if it were mine. I have nearly 1/4 million miles on my 94 with no burning on reg 10w30 dino, PYB mostly. Also, yours has a roller cam unlike my 94.

Also, tow in 3rd gear not OD. OD is a great way to kill your trans.

5/30 is fine. i would do a couple short ocis incase the last owner let it get dirty.

your going to have intake gaskets leaking coolant by 140k if they have not been changed yet. dont freak out when you cant figure out where the coolant is going (its very small)

That would be a great choice. Probably what I will be going with after my current Delo 15w40 experimental run in my 5.7l.
