Oil cans must have been a real PITA!

One thing I remember was that a case of oil was 24 quarts. The first time I bought a case of plastic bottles, it had only 12 qts. in it. I asked the counter joker how come, he said how come what? So I told him in the past, a case of oil was 24 qts. and the oil came in round metal cans and later in cardboard cans. He didn't believe me. Looked at me like I was crazy. He'd never seen anything but plastic bottles. It as then that I started to feel old...

I remember the 2 1/2 gallon oil cans; this I used for the old Hudson which burned almost as much oil as gas !
Now many of these old cans are collector items.
I do not care for the silly one quart bottles/cans.
Mobil 1 is now sold in a 5 quart plastic container, this is much the better.
Also, rather than dumping the old oil on the ground, I now give it away to a man who burns it for the heat.
We have come a long way in several generations..

The speedi-dry (oil absorbent) can be swept outsides to be rained upon; then, let it dry and it can be reused.
Sometimes people woory too much about the environment..
