2012 Buick Verano 2.4L Ecotec has the oil canister on top with limited access. The cainster housing has a 32mm hex on top. A standard depth 32mm socket will not fit or at least the Wright Tools that I tried which is ~54mm long. Snap On 1/2" drive is 47mm but that seems too big as well. Are there any options for made in US/Germany... sockets which have the low profile required?

Lisle 14700 - Taiwan
Matco OFDR60-32 - Taiwan probably as the 27mm version is
Assenmacher 2132 - Taiwan per Amazon listing
SK Tools 48232 - ?
KD Tools (Gearwrench) 3292 - ?

Thank you.

This one came in my Gearwrench 41890 kit, but it is made in taiwan. Unless you are buying USA for patriotic reasons, the quality gap between Taiwan/US is driven by the tool mfg, not the COO.

I have a extra low profile Snap On one I’d mail you if you need it.

Is the Lisle socket really made in Taiwan? I see the listing for it on Amazon and it says it was made in USA.

The pictures on Amazon look like impact-style black steel, but the Lisle 14700 I have is aluminum.... But I bought it fifteen years ago.

I emailed Lisle today and confirmed because I saw the same thing on Amazon. The listing is incorrect.

I have a couple I lost one temporarily.. any of the low profile work the 3/8 drive are better than half because you can use a long extension with the 3/8 and clear the crap on top of it (on some engines such as equinox)

This is the second socket I bought
currently $6.40 IIRC I paid around 10 in 2015

This is the other one I have.. its a tiny bit nicer.. but not worth double $$

I have the Lisle socket and Snapon's 32mm oil filter socket. I much prefer the Snapon one, its lower profile and the way its tapered it fits under the tighter intake manifolds better than the lisle.
