2000 Chev Prizm oil burner, qt every 700-800mi 10w40. For warmer months want to use 15w40 to decrease consumption. Have done ARX treatment with limited results. Looking at using Motorcraft 15w40. Any other brands be better? Appreciate advice..thanks

I probably wouldn't go any thicker than 15w40 If I were you, Just use the cheapest brand you can get.

I hear Castrol High Mileage is very thick. Try it with factory recommended weight of 5w30 or 10w30.

Valvoline MaxLife Synthetic Blend, Pennzoil High Mileage, and Wal-mart's SuperTech High Mileage (least expensive) are all very good as well.
