this engineer on the nascar site tips section says get a oil filter that is 2psid or less at 4gpm for good flowing filter.
here is what i found out by checking with different companies.

these are the filters that cross over to the motorcraft fl820s...

And here was the lab test on my Super Tech ST3600 E-core filter after 6,770 miles of use:

Test Criteria:
Flow Restriction: SAE HS806-2001, RFO 3 oil, 180F, 20 cSt, 1 -18 gpm.
Element Integrity : SAE HS806-2001 (bubble point).

Results:

So on a filter with twice an often recommended OCI, you had a flow of 18 GPM without reaching the bypass pressure. Love to see the same data on some other brands. I have been using ST on my truck for at least 5 years and see no reason to change.

Filter Guy.....now just how are we to compare the numbers given by boxcartommie22 to your numbers? No fair listing all of the specific parameters.... Are you trying to make the filter manufacturers that lurk here look bad?
